School transition support

Kindergarten | Prep School |High School

Transition to Childcare, Prep and (High) School can be very challenging for children on the Autism Spectrum. Our Transition Support programs are facilitated by qualified Educators with expert knowledge around supporting children with additional needs who are coping with transition and change.

Families receive support when choosing a school or service in order to maximise their child’s inclusion andto compliment their individualised support needs.

SENSORY DETECTIVE PROGRAM

9 X 1 Hour Sessions | Ages 4 - 15

The Sensory Detective® Program is a 9 week program. It teaches children ages 4-15 to monitor their reaction to sensory input and helps them to self regulate their behaviours. Sensory sensitivities significantly contribute to the behaviours displayed by children with Autism.

This program teaches children how to:

  • Become aware of the 9 Sensory systems

  • Understand how & why senses become overloaded

  • Recognise sensory overload

  • Use strategies and techniques to relax

  • Communicate sensory distress

9 X 1 Hour Sessions | Ages 6 - 15

GoZen! works with animated videos and practical exercises for social and emotional learning. GoZen! programs are all about helping kids thrive by transforming their worry and other tough emotions into confidence, courage and resilience!

  • Anxiety/worry

  • Wellbeing and resilience

  • OCD relief

  • Mindfulness

  • Negative thoughts

  • Panic attacks

  • Procrastination

STOP THINK DO

20 X 1 Hour Sessions | Ages 4 - 15

This program will teach children how to STOP and control their feelings, THINK about options and consequences, and DO - make better choices. Stop, Think, Do will help children to develop emotional social intelligence..

  • Solving social problems

  • Empathy

  • Cooperation

  • Friendly and Unfriendly behaviour

Stop, Think Do is delivered 1:1 sessions and skills are applied in all our Social Groups.
