In 2008 she became an approved Helping Children with Autism provider (HCWA) delivering early intervention services to Autistic children 7 and under.
"I am dedicated to providing the highest level of service to my clients. I specialise in translating the performance behaviour of autistic individuals through understanding their unique sensory profiles.”
Nelle has written many books, resources, programs and educational workshops that reframe the perception of Autism and Neurodiversity, to promote the understanding that supporting sensory needs leads to improved self regulation.
Nelle created the Ben and His Helmet series of 5 fiction books, set within a classroom, to help children understand their sensory needs, provide solutions to overwhelm and teach self-advocacy skills. Storylines include literal interpretation of language; sensory overload in Music lesson; receiving an Award on Parade; having a Substitute Teacher and participating in Sports Day.
Nelle’s Autism - Simply Explained is a great resource for Teachers, Parents and Grandparents, helping them navigate and support many ages and stages of autistic life.
Nelle’s Sensory Detective Workshop is an educational training resource for Teachers, Allied Health Professionals and Parents, attracting 6 hours of Continuing Professional Development.
NELLE’S PROGRAMS
Nelle's programs empower clients to tune into their body signals. Our body signals alert us to our unmet needs, including our sensory needs. Connecting body signals, unmet sensory needs and emotional well-being is transformative!
"At the core of my support philosophy lies the fundamental principle of trusting your body signals. Rather than question the reasons for bodily discomfort, clients are encouraged to act on these signals, creating a pathway to self-awareness and increasing self-regulation ability.
Together with clients and their families I unravel the "why" which enables us to establish tailored sensory supports as a team. This new self-awareness becomes a catalyst for clients and their families to advocate confidently for their sensory requirements, increasing their success across all environments.
This pivotal concept is seamlessly woven into every program I deliver, ensuring an holistic and empowering experience for clients and their families."
“You guys are so unbelievable!! I’ve been teaching kids with autism for the last 7 years. What you guys offer, is an experience that’s top class and doesn’t come second to any PD I’ve ever attended! You guys should be so proud of what you’ve created and endured to deliver a really, unique, authentic experience like no other!” S.E. Teacher”

“I’d like to say what a phenomenal sensory workshop you held here in Mount Isa. I feel any person who interacts with autistic people, whether in a school environment or any other profession should attend your workshop. I’ve now attended quite a few workshops but yours is by far the best.”
