NelleFrances.com.au and the Ben and His Helmet books were created by Nelle Frances, a Special Needs Educator with over 20 years experience working with children in Primary and High Schools, and the parent of a child on the Autism Spectrum.
Nelle believes that all behaviour is a form of communication and once this is recognised parents, carers and teachers are better able to accommodate the Autistic child's needs.
Nelle’s experience as Special Needs Educator and working with children on the Autism Spectrum, from Primary School through to University age, has given her an indepth knowledge and understanding of the intricate nature of Autism. Applying this knowledge, she has created the popular Ben and His Helmet books for children with an Autism Spectrum Condition.
Nelle understands how essential it is to have access to sound advice and positive anecdotal evidence, especially in the early days after diagnosis, when you’re struggling to make the “clinical” diagnosis fit the actual picture of your child.
Nelle’s aim is to provide you with a comprehensive “description” of Autism within the pages of NelleFrances.com.au, to help “put the pieces together” for you and your family.
